Doesn't time fly when you're having fun? Now we have almost completed this two years´ project of school visits and cooperation between teachers and students. We have met in Tálknafjörður in Iceland, in Rakvere in Estonia and in Stockholm in Sweden, done our projects together in each place and had contact between the visits. We also prepared for the visits by making som material that is published here, and you will also find here some of our work we produced during our weeks studying together.

The main motive of the ISE-project is to develop learning and teaching including innovative use of smartpads and other ICT technics in compulsory schools.

The students will work on cross-curricular and natural science projects, about environmental issues and topics of common concern. The use of smartpads, internet and diverse technics will be integrated into these projects. Our intention is to encourage students to learn individually and cooperatively, and use technology at their own speed and according to their own interests.

An important aim is to create a melting pot for teachers, to share experiences, to learn from each other and through cooperation with students. The implementation of new National Curriculums in Iceland, Sweden and Estonia is on our agenda, as all emphasize the use of new digital tools, creativity, innovation and cross-curricular studies.

The activity will be going on for two years with three class exchanges plus two network meetings/workshops for the teachers involved. The base for cooperation will be our website, used for communication, publishing of student projects, and to mediate teaching guidelines and teachers reflections.

Our goal is also to cultivate cooperation and strengthen mutual understanding within the schools involved in the ISE-project. Our schools and cultures are quite different, and that will be a resource when disseminating our results and contributing to the development of teaching and learning.
